
Dr. Rustad specializes in surgery of the thyroid and parathyroid glands, nasal and sinus surgery, and in facial plastic surgery. He graduated with a degree in chemistry from St. Olaf College, where he was named the Albert Finholt scholar in 1985. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Duke University School of Medicine, graduating with honors in 1990, and participated in basic cancer research for one year at the German Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg Germany. He completed his residency training at the University of Michigan and served as Chief Resident in 1996. He then served on the faculty while completing a fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive surgery there in 1997. Dr. Rustad has been board certified in Otolaryngology since 1997 and in Facial Plastic Surgery since 2000. He moved to Boise with his wife and children in 1997.
